Re: Magnentic Scrolls tapes rescued
In my country is possible to buy 5 kilos bags of cat litter made of pure silica gel for 2-3 euros ;) Maybe you should spend less on cat litter and more on fixing your logo, which keeps rebooting OK so you made your nice kidding. Let's return in topic now. I'm not so updated on exchange rates, anywa...

Re: Magnentic Scrolls tapes rescued
I did an experiment of putting a couple of dud microdrive cartridges in my reflow oven and set them to bake at 75C for 2 hrs. Nice one, Another option is to store the devices with silica gel . A generous quantity of silica gel. In my country is possible to buy 5 kilos bags of cat litter made of pur...

Re: Microdrive Unit Design
And....making the motor a bit faster (I think there was a potentiometer on the PCB) gives more sectors. So I think, one of your mdv is running a bit faster than the other. I was able to get 235 sectors, but had not used this speed. This is the opposite of my experience. I remember the early '90 &qu...

I was thinking to run `QL health clinic' for all those unwanted microdrives. Some may prove beyond repair, those fixed can be offered back on owner's behalf to QL community to save on postage.

Re: Microdrive Unit Design
Now the less common microdrive unit with straight edges - note the extra red wire on the PCB My straight-edged units have two red wires . Also I noticed that all these units have only one screw at one corner. The other corner has the hole but no screw. After several trials I can confirm that their ...

Re: Microdrive Unit Design

We're simply discussing about the different mdv unit designs.
