Re: A newcomer from Barcelona

I did sell pre-cut felt pieces on ebay pretty cheaply, but after a couple of thousand I decided to take a break as it's fiddly to do. But if you want some felt pieces that seem quite reliable so-far for re-felting, let me know.

Re: ql printer repair woes

Three show open, one shows 1.8M, all the rest show 33. Working pull I did a test print on right before taking that pic. No, unfortunately it is still faulty. 20210318_212329_resized.jpg Pins 1, 3 and 4 are not firing. I get the same readings: 6 are around 33 ohms and 3 are open, so that would corre...

Re: ql printer repair woes

I got the printer head from Dave, so have attempted to repair the printer. I also ordered 3 replacement TK3L10Z transistor packs as they seem to be what drives the print head pin solenoids. Certainly one of them (the top one of the 3 circled in red) had very different basic resistance measurements o...

Re: SerMouse: compatible mice list

This, my Qtronix LYNX-30S Mouse, works with SERmouse (it has a Q in the name, so it ought to I suppose)! 20210318_172317.jpg 20210318_172252.jpg There appears to be a seller in the USA on eBay offering them with more than 10 so possibly NOS and possibly of use to someone, even though there are no pi...

Re: New (to me) Q40!

My files had list of differences as long as your arm compared to the default in Wolfgang's zip, so something wasn't right there. The previous owner sent me a q40_rom file that he'd menuconfig'd with v3.34 (and menu_rext v7.66). I checked it worked LRESPR style, then gzipped and split it, popped them...

Re: New (to me) Q40!

I suppose, as any changes I make to the q40_rom file with MenuConfig results in non-functioning ROM chips, that the most likely candidate must by the MenuConfig program, somehow. MenuConfig v3.36 is the latest, so I read and is a few years old. The version in the QL-SD QXL.WIN file, is v3.36, accord...

Re: Best way to transfer ZIPped software to a Gotek

I don’t know if mine is the best way, however I find convenient to utilize Qemulator: it can read the .zip archives and copy the files directly into a floppy disk image. You know, I tried that, but I couldn't even get Q-Emulator to load an .img file. Is it in the Microdrive menu? I see the options ...

Re: New (to me) Q40!

The one on Wolfgang's site. Q40.rom is 281,736 bytes. The one I was using yesterday to generate the compressed HI/LO from was 281,800 bytes after menuconfig-ing. Hm, I'm pretty sure it's impossible for menu-config to enlarge files :?: You're right of course, I think windows was reporting the size i...

Re: tetroid interface and system environment pointer

I remember the hardest thing I found when my TDI was new was where the Start Menu came from and how to configure it! Had no idea that it was Qascade that makes the Start menu and nothing to do with QPAC1/2... I know the boot file gives lots of clues, if you know how. But there is much learning. So d...

OK, strange... where did you get the ROM file from and how big is it? Cheers, Marcel The one on Wolfgang's site. Q40.rom is 281,736 bytes.
