Re: Target for major new QL hardware
I'm experimenting with inexpensive SD WiFi cards to try and create some sort of WiFi file service between a PC and a QL. [...] That sounds good too, but does of course require a vDrive. My vision is something as cheap as possible that requires no extra hardware. Probably pie in the sky though! Mart...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware
*What about a little something for the expansion port that adds some RAM, TK2, (potentially other goodies) and has a USB lead or socket on it to connect to a PC/MAC running software or an emulator, capable of transferring files to/from a QL via QNET? Once a card for the expansion port is designed w...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Kickstarter 2 just launched
The MiSTer platform could beat the Q68, same or more RAM and much beefier FPGA, but I currently don't see the point in developing a competing core for it. The type of SDRAM used for 68K cores is the same for Mister and Q68, so where should the extra performance come from, especially in highcolour? ...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Kickstarter 2 just launched
Stuff like the Next's multy-layer graphics, sprite and sound engines could, however, also benefit any future Q68 evolvement. The current Q68 IMHO shows the limits of what you can achieve with purely CPU-driven graphics and sound. One thing to keep in mind here, is that the Q68 CPU is far from runni...

Re: Q68 and plug-in ROM
You can use the EPROM_LOAD command. When used the first time after a reset, the ROM image will be loaded at address $C000. Interesting, I was not aware of this command. Currently SMSQ/E doesn't occupy the 16 KB at $C000, so it should also be possible to just load and call it. The area is effectivel...

Target for major new QL hardware
Although there may not be enough time and motivation to release a major new QL hardware yet, input for strategic thought is always nice to have. Unlike previous polls, this one is kept very general. In case someone is undecided, checking two options is allowed. *Qzero refers to a QL-like core in RPi...

Re: Open source Floppy controller and Eprom programmer
Hi Dave, I hereby give permission, in perpetuity, for the SuperQBoard schematics and layout to be released under the GPL V2 and/or V3 license. Thanks. Lets hope your license will be respected. Are the schematics published somewhere on the web? I'm no longer actively working in the QL scene (I haven'...

The Q68 does not require any specific class.xpdualcore wrote:Any particular class or is it fairly tolerant?
