Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

I'm highly impressed with the various cases, boards etc around this, so I thought by way of contrast I would post a pic of my highly professional effort here: qlub.jpg Note the use of a junction box from some old ceiling lights to project quality. Also permanent marker Just in case it's useful...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

I can confirm that (1) yes this is the AH QL from the last round of testing (2) I sent as peerType=0 i.e. QL (and yes I did port the timing constant data into a byte string in Python with no timing modifications, and the code that sends them) and (3) I have also just tried with a Spectrum/IF1 (peerT...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Just confirming that with the new firmware flashed from .hex (and tweaking my Python version of sendfilemq appropriately), I am now looking at a perfect blue screen. :) Huge thanks Martyn!

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Furthermore, whilst its been a while since I last tested such a configuration, QLs without TK2 should also work happily with the QLUB Adapter - or indeed with older versions of QDOS rather than Minerva - although the AH ROM will need a bit of tweaking; waiting to hear gbejniet's feedback on this po...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

I tried sending the BLUE_scr file to the screen and the result is attached. It sent around 60 packets before it appeared to stop writing them to the screen, even though the script appeared to keep receiving acks. I’m not 100% convinced that’s not a bug in my Python though so I’ll reserve judgement. ...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

First of all, thank you for so much help and detail here. A few responses: a) Correct - as far as I can tell it is closely transliterated Python that does the same job and runs on this host b) I believe so - all freshly ordered, all Rs are the values stated and tolerance 1%, transistor at least clai...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

OK, I’ve built my version of this and it… almost works!! :) I’ve ported sendfilemq to Python (as you do) and pretty much have it sending text files to the device. On the receiving QL I am spooling the output to the screen. The result is heavily corrupted, only occasionally acking packets, I assume w...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

a) Find and download the legacy Arduino IDE v1.8.0 (still available from Arduino) AND the legacy Teensyduino installer v1.35 - which I couldn't find online, but I have a copy on my harddrive... You can then just use the existing firmware source and compile/flash the Teensy board as per the instruct...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

I've nothing constructive to add here, except that I'm massively excited by this and will definitely be having a crack at building one this year. Serious props are due. I don't know what has been thought through before now (I am new to the area, only bought a QL about a month ago) but I can't stop t...

Re: Hello from London!

Big thanks everyone! I will spend some time looking through those resources. I am expecting a learning curve, especially as I wasn't anticipating so much development / hardware to have happened in the interim. Have you written any software for the QL? Or do you have top secret plans afoot? Ha ha, no...
