Re: Noddy Keyboard Almost

Hi Ruptor,

I did a schemstic fro QL keyboard, in Eagle, which now converted to KiCad 5. I used Cherry switches, just needed to layout the PCB.

I like your idea of the SMD Switch, can you give the details of the switch and I will amend my design to suit and supply a copy of the design files

Re: Faster CPU plug in extensions, How?

Hi,

If you are okay with C compiled programmes, then there are 2 QL emulators already, just download the source and compile the emulator.

I do not know how to use the GPIO pins, but I guess it is more mapped.

QL Arduino

Hi, I have a Arduino UNO attached to a PC, which I use Norman's excellent book to programme the Arduino ia the USB connection. The book details programming the Arduino by C/C++ programming with a pre-written libraries. Could an Arduino be programmed from QPC2 using C68. This would mean that a Arduin...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware

I heard lots of talk of Q68 expansions, but nothing has ever come to fruition. Do they exist or is just or is this just waffle... I know of some that exist but are private hobby projects. I have to be self-critical here as I was too lazy to document the Q68 extension bus timings yet. Also I made th...

Re: Forth

The Dunbars originated near the town of Dunbar, but we moved North and took over the Moray and Nairn area in the North East. I think that, if you see it in the flesh, you might change your mind on the tartan. :o Do you have the title: Laird Dunbar? I never knew there was a town called Forth, only a...

Re: Faster CPU plug in extensions, How?

Hi, I think that writing an QL emulator, which is writen in C, ported to the RPi is one thing. Converting the QL emulator to a "Bare Metal" emulator is another totally difference problem. Which I mean, the C code must be re-written in ARM assembly code, which I do not see many people in th...

Re: Faster CPU plug in extensions, How?

Hi, It is more likely that there is one one to write the low level device drivers on the QL and Raspberry Pi. This has been done on a BBC Micro, by using the Tube interface and lot of ARM assembler.codr to make the system work. What benefits do look for if a Raspberry Pi could be interfaced with a QL?

QD Hyperhelp

Hi, I could not remember the QPTR toolkit S*Basic commands to create Sprites, Window definitions, so I have added the QPTR Toolkit S*Basic keywords from the manual to the QD Hyperhelp system. Now pressing F1 over the specific command loads the keyword syntax an command description in another QD Wind...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware

Hi, With regards to the quote; Add a case and a keyboard splitter and then what is it? (I paid in dollars so I don't actually know £/€ exchange rates. I just know my Q68 was well over $300. Which is not a complaint, mind. Just, when you're paying a premium price for a premium spec machine, you expec...
