Re: Another Minerva Manual
You didn't. It was our "played a lawyer on TV once" advice to provide Minerva only to existing QL owners. Much like running MacOS on non Apple hardware. I don't believe I actually checked the ROM image that got supplied. Ooops did I say that out loud ? After a while, we dropped that requi...

Re: 32 bit random numbers
repeatability and for cryptography and software engineering you want that Hell no, crypto really likes true random for exactly the opposite of that reason. The problem with true randomness is that when you encrypt something you can't decrypt it. What you want is the appearance of true randomness. T...

Re: 32 bit random numbers
Hi Bwinkel, Congruent random number generators are for PSEUDO randoms... We want true random numbers. The method I have devised could be adopted for ANY number of bits, but not on QPC2. ( But possible in C++ , on 64bit machines or better). Is the park-Miller routine available for QL systems ? What ...

Re: QLE-PV
I don't think that's how it works. You can't just bundle free software with paid software embedded in it and then sell that. That depends on the respective licenses. See Ubuntu for example. [mod hat on] But in this case unless Rich can confirm he sold reselling rights to Simon I think we can probab...

Yes, I have read that but its not super obvious where RAMTOP is limited.
I am assuming its in the badly described D1 at boot section which seems to be stored in i2c ram?

Re: Aurora Minerva Boot Error
Markus? Or did you mean Marcel? Ooops 2nd time Ive done that I think! 2nd time I've read it in the forum today even, by different people! Most British brains for some reason cannot process my name :-D I literally had this exchange at QL meetings: Hi Marcus! Hi! And it's, Marcel. Oh, sorry Marcus! &...
