Re: Noisy MDV

It's fine for cleaning, but I'd probably use switch cleaner instead! Switch cleaner evaporates quicker than WD40 and can be lubricated quite quickly afterwards. A tiny drop of sewing machine or watch lubricant would probably be best.

Have fun.

Norm.

Tip: Don’t sniff the wipe
I didn't realise that India Pale Ale had that effect! I'm going to have to swap from Iso-Propyl Alcohol in that case! :D

Re: Has anyone ever tried "long filenames" from H.P.Recktenwald?

Hi Derek, I remember many years ago -- which is unusual for me, remembering stuff -- having a rant about this very matter. Why does the QL's file system need to include the whole directory tree in each and every filename in the directory? The eRant is at https://normandunbar.github.io/RantsAndRaves/...

Re: Noisy MDV

Beware!! WD40 is not a lubricant, it is a cleaner and water dispersant -- that's what the "WD" stands for. It may lubricate for a wee while, but it will also remove any existing lube too. Apparently, many cyclists have been using WD40 on their bike chains with nasty results. Lots of useful...

Oh gods! My childhood Latin at secondary school resurfaces. "Redde caesari quae sunt caesaris" I think is the full quote, but I get your drift. ;)

Re: sQLux v1.0 (The Xmas Turkey)

I have consulted that site on several occasions, and it has always been very useful. Congratulations. Rich, of RWAP fame, is responsible for the content. It was originally a book to purchase. I merely got involved in converting the text from really nasty HTML exported from the original sources in T...

Re: sQLux v1.0 (The Xmas Turkey)

Thanks for that image of the Spanish QL keyboard. I have added it to the appendix for the Online SuperBASIC manual. A build is executing, even as I type. It should be available in about 5 minutes, depending on server load. https://superbasic-manual.readthedocs.io/en/latest/Appendices/Appendix09.html...
