Re: Gigabasic

Perhaps we should disassemble Gigabasic with DEAssembler (also on Dilwyn's site) and see if we can figure out why it doesn't work on Minerva.

That would be a good community project.

Re: QL Tinkering

OK - here are my results. I used the QL + Tetroid's GoldCard and QEmulator set to QL speed and then to GoldCard speed Gold Card speed in Q-emuLator is approximate and was based on a couple of known benchmark results. I should still have a benchmark I wrote years ago to collect cycle-accurate instru...

Silver box - handle strengthener - free to a good home

Does anyone need the piece of cardboard which fits inside a QL silver wrapper and holds the plastic carry handle in place?

I have one here - free to a good home if yours has been torn!

Re: QL Tinkering

I have tried QBAD - it runs fairly well on QPC2 - with Lightning to speed up the graphics routines (or Minerva) it is not too bad on q-emulator either....

Re: QL Software Preservation - Next Steps

I have found a bit more time to pull together the majority of my QL software collection (currently running at 263 items). The current list is attached - some of those may of course be freeware and I missed it. There is about 50-60KG in weight with all of the manuals etc. (and I still have a fair amo...

I have never tried MESS for emulating the QL - when I looked at it, the wealth of options and method of setting it up to emulate the QL just seemed much too complex. How does it compare to q-emulator ?

Javascript QL Emulator

One thing we have always missed is the ability to run a QL within a web browser (eg to allow people to try some of the software). I recently came across Cheerp and Cheerpj (for converting C/C++ and Java to javascript) https://www.leaningtech.com/cheerpj/download/noncommercial/index.html It is free f...

Re: QL Tinkering

Just an update - I thought I would run the same test program on QPC2 (ie under SMSQ/e) and even with SMSQ/E the IF x THEN IF y version is slightly quicker than IF x AND y I also tried something different too - using integer variables in the FOR loop - now because I was doing 200,000 iterations, that...
