Re: Dead BBQL from old Gold Card

Do be careful that you are not bending any pins in the QL expansion connector - that is very easily done unfortunately.

With certain combinations between a Gold Card and ZX8301 you may need to remove the QL's 68008 to get the Gold Card to work.

THe vDriveQL and the vMap (needed to allow you to remap the vdrive to mdv1_ or mdv2_) can be found on:

https://www.sellmyretro.com/user/unsoldItems/Bloodnok

The seller is currently having a break over the festive period.

Re: QLiberator decompiler

I obtained consent to make QL Pawn freeware and it is available for download from Dilwyn's website - http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/games/adventures/index.html

This includes the loader referred to, as there was no other way of removing the copy protection.

Re: The Investronica Starmouse from Spain

Yes, it works with F1-F5 on a 128k QL. Have Investronica given permission to share their old programs? Do they even own the copyright or does someone else? Perhaps no one knows. Do Investronica still exist? If so, it is worth reaching out to them... If the software was dependent on the hardware, th...

Re: The Investronica Starmouse from Spain

A great find - we could do with a description adding to the QL Wiki and the software being uploaded somewhere...

Is the software usable without the mouse?

Re: Replacements for Zx8301 / Zx 8302 / IPC

That's good to know Rich - so the ZX8301 is the more ciritically endangered species then! ;-) Are SuperHermes still available? I see the odd Hermes coming up on retro... Yes 8301s are a big problem. No superHERMES unfortunately - Tony Firshman keeps trying to make a new batch for me, but he has not...

Re: Replacements for Zx8301 / Zx 8302 / IPC

Just to confirm - I have literally 100s of 8302 chips..... hence why I list them at a low price

I have maybe 20 8301s left in stock (after Tony Firshman hunted high and low around his house)

Re: P.I. Cole - noir detective game

b) Can you decompress the screens in the background - ie show the text input and allow text input, and show the menu on the left immediately and then just load the graphics in the appropriate frame? No, this is not possible, as most of the time I do not know which one will be the next screen. The u...

Re: P.I. Cole - noir detective game

Looking great - I love more adventures :) QREST (part of ACT was probably the fastest display method I have seen for compression) - but there are two ways around this - a) Why do you need to compress the screens? Is it to fit it on a floppy disk - or is the game going to run from HD disk or SD / CF ...
