Superb! When do you need to travel back? I might even stay on Sunday if some others also can stay.

Not even $ instead of £?
martyn_hill wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2024 9:46 pm To be fair, the UK keyboard was already pretty much based on the US layout - something I was surprised to discover when developing the extra language maps for the Qbase :-)
Did you finish any of them?

Re: Q68 direct sector access

Ive now switched off fast access. That might have had something to do with it? Yes! That overclocks the SD card and is an experimental feature that comes with a huge warning! It should never have become default on the SMSQ/E website, I keep warning people all the time. If you have that switched on,...

Re: Q68 direct sector access

I dont see why Id want to do that considering the routine I just posted (above) which does exactly that. It is safe and just does the job. For users who may not know where to poke, it requires no specialist knowledge. I wasn't aware that you want a smooth solution for others, not just rename one or...

Compared to previous converters, it is still very cost effective.

Re: ntsc sinclar ql schematics ??

A little off topic, but what was the US QL keyboard layout? Was it close to UK?

Re: Qzero performance update

Hi Derek, Can Ethernet be added to QLbase, as QLbase, is an excellent addition to the Qzero. Theoretically yes, but it would be a very different board layout. Also, it would consume signals on the 40 pin GPIO header, which I want to keep as I/O for the moment. I may try and design a custom enclosure...

pjw wrote: Sat Apr 20, 2024 7:38 pm Thanks, but its getting to the image file that is the problem. I'll check with Wolfgang when he's back.
I'm all for QL side programming, but if all you want is to change is the volume name of a few images, why not use the hex editor on a PC?

Re: Qzero performance update

pjw wrote: Sat Apr 20, 2024 7:43 pm PS: Could the same be done for Q68?
Not with the current Q68 board, as it has no separate video RAM. But the Qzero runs Q68 SMSQ/E.
As you will see at the meeting, a Qzero with QLbase offers similar funtionality as the Q68, plus digital video out and matrix keyboard, minus ethernet.

Qzero performance update

Hi, the Qzero has become much faster in the highest graphics resolution. That is possible because the Qzero FPGA now supports the separate video RAM, which was already present on the board. In 1024x768 @ 65536 colors, the Qzero is now about factor 2.6 faster than before, according to the BogoMIPS an...
