Cicrles should appear as circles in both mode 4 and mode 8.

However, you have to bear in mind that the number of X pixels in mode 8 is half that of mode 4 which is probably what is causing the issue.

I have no objections to sending a copy to Derek, but unfortunately, the copyright is held by Sector Software - I only supply an update to the original software to fix bugs and add more functionality.... If this is a UK model - I have quite a lot of spare key tops and offer them for £1 plus postage, including a replacement pillar (that they sit on), as that is often the reason why the key top is missing - the pillar is worn or snapped.

Do you know if the membrane is working?
