Re: PLATOTERM 0.1 smoke test for Sinclair QL released

Hi,

Is there a way to test PLATOTERM without a wifi modem ? Maybe like connecting the QL serial port to another computer with internet access ? I am afraid the number of QL users that own a wifi modem is very low...

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

. I need to finish printing my Q68 laptop casing anyway. Hi Franois, Do you have pictures of your Laptop Case? I Derek, I was waiting to have the laptop working before talking about it but I might go ahead and start a new thread in a few days. All 3D models are on my job computer and I am on vacati...

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

My current plan is to install the QL NET PCB, (the one from Dave or something I will built myself), about 10 cm away from the Q68. Is there a problem having the three lines (3.3V, Ground and NET signal) 10 cm long ? As the length of NET cable between machines can be quite long, I don't see any issue...

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

About the electronic add-on needed, it is not clear to me what the red lines in the PDF means i.e. what needs to be removed from the original schematic. All three resistors with direct connection to the transistor, and the transistor itself, are removed. The idea was to show the difference between ...

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

A very good news! The compatibility with the Interface 1 is a big plus for me. About the electronic add-on needed, it is not clear to me what the red lines in the PDF means i.e. what needs to be removed from the original schematic. But I am in no rush and I am sure everything will be clarify soon. I...

Re: QL Network Protocol(s)

Hi, With all the variations of the net protocol, it would be very nice if someone with the knowledge could create a table (in excel or other) with all version of the driver (BBQL, TK2 VXX, Minerva, SMSQ etc, including the zx spectrum) in both row and column and, at each intersection, a list of what ...

Thank you Marcel for your inputs. I guess this is yet another project in the list of "to do". But if I want to modify the Minerva ROM, first I need to buy an eprom programmer.

My Gold Card is faster than yours! Well nope it doesn't work.

Hi, I came across a few 68010 chips and installed some of them in my amiga 1000 and 500. I got an instant 5% to 10% speed boost from the better optimized 68010 instructions. More specifically 9,5% boost on my prime number benchmark (see the thread in the hardware section for more information about t...

Re: Two peripherals attached to Q68 fried at the same time. Coincidence ?

Thanks Peter and all. I guess this is a good lesson learned for me. Always make sure the power supply cannot fall into limited current mode. I won't make the same mistake twice. Just loosing a keyboard is not too bad. Could have been worse. I have re-connected my new keyboard combo through the KVM s...

Two peripherals attached to Q68 fried at the same time. Coincidence ?

Hi, As the title says, my Q68 setup sustained multiple casualties that appeared to take place at the same time. The Q68 itself still work great. But I want to have expert opinions as to what might have happened and precautions I should take in the future. Here is the setup: Q68 powered by a HP-6623A...
