Re: PC mouse to QL conversion project

My mouse connects to SER1, while Linux host to SER2. What has troubled me so far, is that incoming mouse data on SER1 appears also in SER2 input queue. I have not been able to figure out why. That I can easily answer. The two receive lines are internally connected, the hardware cannot distinguish b...

Re: PC mouse to QL conversion project

You can draw more power out of it. And mice need power. No other magic properties.

Re: PC mouse to QL conversion project

Hi Marcel, can you please be more specific about the resistor, as I use serial mouse and I do not get the idea yet. Has this mod been applied, do you have a picture inside QL? I don't have a picture. But it's R10, it's between the serial ports and the TV modulator. It has 680 Ohm so you can only pu...

Re: Making QL Software More Accessible

On further look that the Miracle Harddisc was called "WIN"chester is also no coincidence. I'd be astonished if the Atari format also wasn't just the QLWA format, so that would be 3 out of 3 format are just another form of .WIN (or rather QLWA) format. The only difference is that for easier...

Umm, .WIN is just an image of at least one of these "real" formats.

Re: Making QL Software More Accessible

One of the most compatible formats, except ZIP, is actually the .WIN format. It can be read by QPC, SMSQmulator, QemuLator, QXL, Q68, Qx0 and original QLs using QL-SD. .WIN files can be as little as 1MB for small distributions (and further ZIPed if needed to make them only a few kb big). Or you can ...

Re: PC mouse to QL conversion project

If one has got a Qimi interface (or a SQB with mouse support) then you can use an Atari mouse. Alternatively PS/2 compatible mice can be used with an adapter https://www.kilgus.net/2017/01/30/of-mice-and-men-but-mostly-mice/ , USB compatible mice can also be used, for example using SmallyMouse2 (I h...

Also they have added MCS-51 compatibility to the II but not MCS-48 :( I'd have bought it (again) if it supported MCS-48 (like 8049/8749).

Re: My Gold Card is faster than yours! Well nope it doesn't work.

I have a TL866A with the extra port. It's pretty good and the supported devices list is incredibly long. I have just seen that the TL866A and TL866CS are not in production anymore, there is now a TL866 II+ instead. Also, they have open source PC/Mac/Linux software. This is a reverse engineering eff...
