Thanks Norman, that's definitely the issue. But since my display adaptor has no Disable Hardware Acceleration button or the Troubleshooter for me to apply the workaround, it looks like I'm sunk with this one and might have to switch to another Chromium browser until M$ fix it from the Edge code side. Drat and double drat.

Not the best of days between everything today. I even got a temporary ban from a Bookface group - I light-heartedly replied to a joke about concrete and the keyword "cement" triggered a ban for me for some reason. Grrr. (Not going to repeat it here in case I get banned here too).

Cement? A strange way to get banned. I remember a Windows joke about WinCE, WinME and WinNT being combined to make Windows CEMENT -- which isn't even all that funny.

Anyway, with your reputation in the QL world, if you got banned here, there would be a rebellion, and we mods would unban you anyway!
