To my mind yes. I guess it's whether you prefer Jetpac and Manic Miner or Gears of War! :D

I cancelled the funding, due having to over 10 months after paying for the computer.

Not a good way to do business.

It's not due til August 2021, so don't hold your breaths though :) (and KS1 had loads of delays, so who knows when KS2 will actually deliver)
Most of those delays were design problems with the keyboard. Given that there are relatively few changes (mostly to do with the PCB layout) there is less risk of delay. The team are also more experienced and have relationships with the manufacturers too. So, I don't see any real prospect of major delays other than from geopolitical events and chip suppliers.

Ah, well, that's the point, you're not "buying" the computer, you are investing in a proposal for a project with the contracted reward for the investment at the end of its term being a computer. That's very different.

Your argument is like withdrawing funds from Sir Francis Drakes voyage to the Americas because he can't give you potatoes next week.

Hi Stephen,

Agreed. 100%.

Maybe. Sort of. Perhaps!

Drake's voyage didn't (as I remember!) have an end date when potatoes, coffee and, bloody tobacco, would be available. "Kickstarters" do usually have a promised date when all benefits for the investors will be available given that funding is successful.

So, not quite the same as Drakes voyage to the Americas. ;)

Stay safe everyone, it's coming back big time!

Cheers,
Norm.

I didn't mind waiting for the item. My only curiosity with the Kickstarter campaign (and perhaps lack of understanding) was that once they passed all of their stretch goals and went way passed it by £350,000 could they have reformulated the price and knocked it down for everyone. Does Kickstarter ever work that way?

They ought to be able to claim any losses from the 1st Kickstarter (no one should lose money doing this sort of thing) but does the price reduce at scale? Of course the scale is only in the thousands so it may not matter that much. I suppose I could have gotten 2 and stuck the 2nd one on eBay and list it for ever at $1200 (one has been listed there for a long time :-/)
