I think, it was always ICE, which was used on the Thor range, even on the XVI.

Any updates?

Sorry gents, been a busy period at work so the Thor has been overlooked.

All the parts I wanted have arrived, replacement sockets new RTC and diodes so hopefully
I have now got time to have a play over the weekend and see what I can get sorted

Don't make us send Professor Yaffle after you!

Best I start looking at it again then!

OK, so been a while but I have got the CST Thor out for a weekend of work!

Floppy drives are now back in! Yet to be tested though.


Next came the battery corrosion, I thought the sockets maybe were hiding some damage and boy
were they, so out they come!


Time to replace


Will also be replacing the caps and crystals as well, photos later!

Following with interest - my Thor is nicely etched like this too. I stopped it progressing but I haven't repaired everything. It boots, but can't get the display image out.

OK so new sockets and ICs as well as both Crystals replaced and the diodes.

Now to put back together, in goes level 1.


Next the QL motherboard and we are back together..

@Dave What is supposed to be displayed when this boots? I have never seen one before so
when I come to boot this up I am not sure what to expect....
