I found this diagram very helpful, I think the one of the original project is not very clear and seems to show pin 4 as grounded.
It is actually a possible source of problems. It shows pin 11 not grounded, which will cause some monitors to fail.
Wiring is correct in the schematics I have published.
Thanks @peter. I'm confused pin 11 isn't rounded in the guide I followed https://github.com/holmatic/video_if_ql_vga so I haven't grounded pin 11 either. On that link I posted is shows pin 4 as grounded, which isn't correct either. While the text description is correct. Still, this caught me out!
Where is you schematic please?

Finally found the time to order a nice D-Sub hood for my miniaturized version. Type Conec 16-001810E. It has an optional side cable exit, the cable relief for it should be filed off a little. With the circuit fitted, it looks like this:

And the completed QL to VGA adaptor cable:

Had I waited for a black cable, it would be perfect.
My latest AliExpress order had room for this to bring it to free shipping (something like $1.70 for the RP2040 Zero. Can't wait to try creating this in a nice small package.

That makes the D-Sub hood more expensive than the converter Are you doing it without a carrier PCB?
