Tim Hartnell's QL Games Compedium

Post by bwinkel67 »

I'm a big fan of Tim Hartnell. I bought any of his books I came across when I was young, typing in many programs from it. I converted one to the ZX81; his BASIC chess program for on, which plays pretty interestingly. I saw this book on Facebook and grabbed it up. It was publihsed in August 1984, so pretty early on in the QL's life span. A bit disappointing that he doesn't really seem to explore the QL very much. Just perusing through it, seems more like converted generic programs.

He has a few graphics programs but they don't seem to do much graphics (i.e. bouncing ball that just uses AT and the letter O). Did he ever write a computer specific book, where he went beyond just the logic of the game he developed?
