Ways to improve the QL Forum?

I just came to realize how much I depend on QL Forum. It's a fantastic resource, run with a very light touch by some fantastic admins. BUT, how could we make it better?

I always get an eye twitch when headed to the Compatibles Corner and it says:

The Thor, Aurora, Q40 and Q60 etc. are discussed here.

Shouldn't it say:

The Q68, Qx0, Aurora, Thor etc. are discussed here.

Do we talk about operating systems in Hardware, or Software & Programming? I mean, if the OS is on ROM, it's more hardware, and if it's soft-loaded it's more software. So, uh... should there be some neutral territory, like an OS DMZ? Or should we just rename it "OS, Software & Programming"?

Why is the rulebook "dreaded"? I mean, they let us keep our first-borne, right? There's no capital punishment. We don't have to go to the salt mines if we ask which version of QDOS is better, JM or JS :P

Also, why don't they kick those drunk people off the chat? *doof* *bam* *biff* *pow!* Oh, never mind, apparently, they run this madhouse!

All thoughts I've had too - especially since the birth of the Q68 :-)

:D I think the best course of action is probably to move compatibles into hardware, then remove it as a topic all together. It doesn't really see enough traffic, and it would be shame to move Q68 stuff into a quieter part.

Can you have subfolders within hardware section? Maybe that is the answer?

You can, but then they are still subforums as such :)
