XTC68 Compiler Updated

Post by dilwyn »

Updated sources for XTC68 cross-compiler for QDOS C68 for POSIX systems (e.g. Linux) is available from Jonathan Hudson on github (thanks to XorA for the tip).

https://github.com/stronnag/xtc68

I've put a copy of the master zip file onto the C page of my website under XTC68 in case it ever gets removed from github.

Would be interesting to get Fred Toussi's Libraries and to know, what kind of Compiler he uses on the Atari, as all developments of Text87 was done there (as far as I know ;) ).

Hi Ralf,

are you sure, that Toussi used an Atari ST? I have had quite a lot of writing (snail mail) with Fred, cause I have had implemented a printer driver for the "star SR-15" printer (9-pin), and we both (Toussi has had also programmed a driver for it) have had the same problem, that there was one thing not working (can't remember what), and both came to the conclusion, that this must be an error in the software of the printer.

I'm asking because Toussi has had told me, that he has cross compiled text87 with a C++ compiler. I'm nearly sure, that there was no C++ compiler available for the Atari in 1987 (it was IMHO even difficult to find a good C++ compiler for the PC at this time).

BTW: Where can I buy the patch from Marcel for text87, so that it can be used with QPC2? I'm afraid Jochen does not support the QL/QDOS/SMSQ/... anymore. At least I cannot find anything on his Website. The other dealer (UK) referenced by Marcel, also doesn't list this patch on his pages.

BTW2: As I now have a (Colour :-) Laser printer, I'm very interessted to buy the Laser printer driver (I haven't had bought it, as I didn't have the money for a Laser/Inkjet printer at the time I was using text87). Is this still available.

GERMAN! QL-Download page also available in English: GETLINE$() function, UNIX-like "ls" command, improved DIY-Toolkit function EDLINE$ - All with source. AND a good Python 3 Tutorial (German) for Win/UNIX :-)

I think that these are still available from Jochen, but you need to email him.

I have listed QLOAD and Q-Liberator on SellMyRetro on Jochen's behalf, so I can do the same for his other programs - I could do with a list of his software which is missing, so that I can email him and get the correct pricing!

@RWAP: Thank you.

Then first I will try an e-mail to Jochen. That's easier because of payement (I'm German).
