I have just seen a new adaptor listed on sellmyretro which allows you to use a USB mouse with a 9 pin connector. As it has been tested and works with the Amiga - I wondered whether it might work with the QIMI to allow a modern mouse to be used (instead of the hard to find bus mice)...
A bit expensive, but would certainly be of interest.

I have emailed the seller as the main issue is whether the device could handle both mouse buttons being pressed at the same time....

Is this on the same lines as Marcel's blog article here ?RWAP wrote:I have just seen a new adaptor listed on sellmyretro which allows you to use a USB mouse with a 9 pin connector. I don't think so, because it seems to actually support USB. The one in Marcels's blog is only for PS/2, and requires "PS/2 USB combo" devices.dilwyn wrote:Is this on the same lines as Marcel's blog article here ?

Re: New option for QIMI users?
HI,
The mouse adapter on Sellmyretro, looks expensive, the adapters have been on eBay for a while now.
This could be used:

But will have to altered little to work with QIMI, the Atari option will work, but the middle button or press 2 buttons at once to emulate the middle button will need a hardware or software change.
It might be easier to reverse engineer the ICE mouse to work with QIMI, I did something like this in 1990s, I can not remeber the details, I have a scrap of paper with the QIMI-ICE-ATARI-AMIGA comparisons.
