Propeller QL

Post by dilwyn »

A few years ago there was talk of a QL-compatible board based on propeller chips, sometimes used in robotics.
Then the website just disappeared and I thought that was that - I remember the site saying a few boards had been built, but not much more than that.
Norman Dunbar (he of the Assembler Programming series) has let me know via my blog that he has found the new location of the site about these systems. Indeed, the new pages go on to discuss 68020 and 68040 versions of the pPropQL as the board is known. I quote from Norman's message (notice how he just casually says he "was bored this morning"!):
I was bored this morning! :)

I found that Wikispaces, where the links in the main article point, had stopped providing free wiki space to non-educational projects. Hence the vanishing on the Propeller stuff.

I found links to the QL Emulator at https://github.com/rosco-pc/propeller-wiki/wiki/ and also to a Q20 version at https://github.com/rosco-pc/propeller-w ... pPropQL020. There’s also a Q40 version “in progress” at https://github.com/rosco-pc/propeller-w ... i/pProp040 but it’s brief and not updated since February 2015.

But I was bored!

I'm on my first day "out of work" as my contract at Morrisons has ended. I've been working on the next exciting issue of the Assembler eComic, dealing mostly with feedback on issue 3.

:D

Cheer,
Norm.
