Same here, but I don't think this makes any difference as we should not be passing that URL about... (it was supposed to be only temporary) :D

Hi Rich,

That's fine by me.

Cheers,

I get that in Chrome, but not Safari.
I'm not too bothered about the qlforum.co.uk/qlwiki link, it was only meant to be temporary anyway.

I have now updated the old QL Wiki to point to the new one automatically.

The only problem will be all of the old images on google search!

Cheers Rich. Works a treat! I just refreshed a page I had open on the old Wiki on my Tablet, and I was taken to the same page on the new wiki.

Only problem will be if I need to find something on the old Wiki, as I've been doing, that might be incorrect or otherwise on the new one. However, that's not looking very likely now, I think we have successfully migrated. (Famous last words?)

I had a mild panic last night when I found a page called "Websites" on the old wiki, which was missing on the new one. I had a look at the database dump this morning as I had no pages with the name "website.txt" in my test system or in the files I uploaded to the new Wiki. I didn't find a page with that name. Not until I looked closer and remembered that pages can have a name, but also have an alternative title - and that solved the problem, the page was "links" and the alternative title of "Websites" was being used. Phew!

I've since extracted all the old pages with alternative titles, and updated the new Wiki to match.

Cheers,
Norm.

Hi Tomas,

thanks. Good to hear that it is working fine on the Rasberry - but that's the bonus of DokuWiki, it seems to be very capable indeed. Anyway, now that you have subscribed, you may update anything you see fit! Have fun.

Cheers,
Norm.

Afternoon All.

I have taken the liberty of applying the latest updates to the QLWiki - not much changed there, but it's best to be up to date. I did test this on another Wiki first, of course, just in case.

Also updated is the default theme. A few changes are possibly obvious here:
  • The admin menu is no longer on tools, it's on your user menu - if you are authorised.
  • The user menu has a space for an avatar - sadly, on my test system, this did not work. It has been left disabled for now.
Further work that I'm hoping to get on with "soon":
  • Reorganising the images into namespaces, for example, screenshots, books, software - possibly maybe even subdivided into different categories. This will make uploading images a bit less slow and unwieldy due to the huge number of images that we have in the single qlwiki namespace, at present.
  • Setting up templates for different page types - general, traders, books, software etc - to ensure that we all stick to the same formatting and layout, etc.
Cheers,
Norm.

Speaking of "soon" (See post above!)

I have had a couple of hours this afternoon so the following work has been done:
  • screenshots media namespace created. Lowercase names by the way!
  • packaging media namespace created.
  • books media namespace created.
So, if you are uploading images, please upload into the appropriate namespace. Please.

I've moved the following images from the existing qlwiki namespace:
  • Anything with screenshot in its name moved to screenshots namespace.
  • Anything with a numeric name - 0-12345-ab-56 type names - moved to books namespace.
  • Anything with inlay, package, packaging, reverse, cover or insert in its name, moved to packaging namespace.
Of course, every page in the wiki with a link to those moved files had to be edited to correct the link(s) - so I've done that as well.

Hopefully I got everything done correctly.

Cheers,
Norm.

PS. I lied! I didn't edit the pages, I used a plugin to edit the pages for me! ;) ;) ;)

This creates something of a problem.

We're going to need you to create a canary. In case something happens to you, your AI keeps posting, and nobody comes because you're still being productive.
