Re: Happy Birthday!
I sadly have to report that none of the presents everyone has sent me have arrived. :( I'm assuming this is simply because none of you have been able to get to the post office under the current rules? ;) ;) ;) ;) Cheers, Norm. Your present this year consists of a few electrons neatly arranged to re...

Re: TCP/IP processor load under QPC2
The current version of QLirc does this anyway in an attempt to reduce the load - I had suggested this to Ralf when he contacted me about it. QLirc has come on a lot since Tim's early demo. It has been used to connect to the QL Forum IRC channel for several hours by a few people testing it. I'm addin...

Re: Fitting a Minerva EEPROM to a Issue 5 QL
Also depends on what TK2 image it was. Some of the 16K plug in EPROMs didn't have a TK2_EXT command (although most did, to enforce the TK2 definitions if required later). The extensions in those versions were just linked in at startup and that was that available to use without any action on your par...

Re: ZXSimulator
The font was in a larger collection of fonts included with later versions of Lightning. I've found the font for Spectrum, I'll post it on my site later today.

Re: ZXSimulator
Thanks Dilwyn, you've saved me lots of time. I was creating a zx-81 font from the actual font data in the zx-81 ROM which I found on-line. Stay safe. Cheers, Norm. It would do no harm to compare this against the ROM fonts in case I made some mistakes. I did the font manually in my FontEd program, f...
Re: QL-SD ROM
Great news, Marcel. Excellent idea for a device. Hope it makes it to market in due course.

Re: ZXSimulator
Not directly aimed at ZXSimulator, just thought that I'd mention this on this thread. I've added a ZX81 font for QL to the fonts page on my website. It's based on the 64 character ZX81 character set, implemented as CHR$(128) onwards on QL so as to be able to use both QL and ZX81 characters. ZX81 cha...

It looks as though the site software treats space charcaters as '"" rather than " " ?

Re: ZXSimulator
Hi again, Unfortunately, the tabbing in the timing figures got removed by the site ..... Spaces between colons were removed ! Perhaps the site administrators could look into this ? Best wishes, Steve. Probably better to put space-critical stuff like that as CODE or QUOTE to try to preserve the spac...

Re: QL Add-on ROM
Hi, <snip> Provided QPAC is or can be made romable easily. This may fit $E0000-$FFFFF which is 128K. I was hoping to use either eeprom AM29F010 (128K, 8x16K sectors) or AM29F040(512K, 8x64K sectors). The latter seems still available. Cannot tell how fast these chips are compared to QL ROM. I believ...
