Re: QL-SD Headache
Yes, Peter, I would be happy to host the files if you wish. I could even set up a QL-SD specific page if that would help, e.g. manual, software, third party software (if XorA wishes to make his tools software available when complete). Either send it to me as a zipped attachment to an email, or post...

Re: QL-SD Headache
I am working on a tool like qltools but for BDI files, you can see my initial results in the Software forum. http://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=867 This should ease file transfer issues. Now I have a good handle on the file format I just need to add functionality. Sounds fantastic! :D And...

Re: QL-SD Headache
Hi, sorry I had no time for QL activities recently. When QL-SD started in Germany, we gathered an archive of complementary files for it. In my opinion, this "QL-SD starter package" should now be made available for the world. It contains the MAKE_DIR extension for the QL, the MageImage Prog...

Mark Swift's Website
Hi,
I saw with regret that Mark Swift's website
http://www.mswift.unisonplus.net/ql/index.html
seems permanently down.
I wonder wether his QL/Amiga related downloads are available somewhere else?
I think Mark's work is very much worth to be conserved.

Re: Extended expansion connector...
I wouldn't do anything which makes use inside the QL case difficult, like the proposed 164-pin connector. Fitting the QL case seems the main point for this mainboard.
(Outside the QL case, the board would be compared to Q60 and Q68.)

Re: Extended expansion connector...
I'd keep things as simple as possible, so the major goal can be reached at all. A mainboard with incompatible or less than optimal expansion slot seems better to me than a perfectly defined expansion slot with an unfinished mainboard. ;) E.g. when defining the expansion connector for the Q68, I firs...

Re: Extended expansion connector...
Just a personal thought... it seems to me that writing, reading, considering, changing and re-reading those specs takes quite some time. I have to admit that my concentration is beginning to fall. Wouldn't it be more effective to build a working mainboard prototype first? I see three advantages: 1. ...

Re: Extended expansion connector...
For new peripherals, if drivers can be developed maybe only USB should be supported for new peripherals devices? I'd estimate the likelyhood that USB drivers will ever be written for the QL below 1%. USB would almost certainly mean another little computer running the USB drivers, and connecting to ...
