Re: Ubuntu 14.04.4 and uqlx2017
I'm not sure why you would want to use TV mode in uqlx - That doesn't make much sense to me, as the reason , the small screen and some characters lost on the left doesn't really apply here. The ROMs are not patched, to my knowledge, but rather an F1 key press is simulated after starting the emulator...

Re: XChange on WIN1_
It does. You must have lost the headers before.Andrew wrote: I expected QxlWinReader to copy the headers too

Re: QL-SD problem - help needed
Thank you ! I have not soldered/ desoldered anything in the last 20 years ... so it's time to start again :) And what should I do with that red wire ? just cut it ? Do you know what it was it used for ? I do not find it on the circuit diagram. Some stuff I forgot: You probably have an AH ROM now (a...

Re: QL-SD problem - help needed
That means your QL has very probably seen a motherboard change - The serial number seems to be for an issue6. Issue 5 QLs can be reconfigured by changing JU1 and to JU6. The circuit diagram here has a dotted box to the bottom right that gives the proper jumper setting. You need configuration (7), wh...

Re: QL-SD problem - help needed
Interesting. You seem to have an issue 6 QL that was retrofitted with EPROMs. (Issue 6 normally came with ROMs and lacked the circuitry issue 5 had that allowed to easily change between various ROM and EPROM configurations). An issue 6 QL should have a 23256 as IC33 and a 23128 as IC34. Yours seems ...
Re: 8302
The definition of the functions of the bits in various registers suggests that hardware is being internally reused. So: 1) Are the baud rate bits "don't care" when the mode is set to 'MDV/NET' They seem to. I didn't find anything in the Minerva sources that touches the baud rate bits when...
Re: 8302
It might be useful to mention that microdrives writes apparently use the/some baud rate generator (a byte is written to the drive by placing it in the transmit register, then the status register is polled until the byte is completely ticked out). This means the transfer rate to the tape must be cont...

Re: Prospero Fortran and C
Other than for pure preservation, I don't think this compiler is really worth using in the 21st century, with the much better C68 around.

Re: Q- emulator and prospero fortran
Are you really talking about "eprom in an EPROM"?. On a real QL, the code shouldn't be able to change EPROM contents. On QPC, I could observe the contents of the ROM memory area had changed after the first compilation run.mhanias wrote:Also in real QL with eprom 1.3 and the same happens
