Re: Q- emulator and prospero fortran

I tried, with no success, on QPC. The first compilation will apparently work, but the compilation seems to be writing to the EPROM area and messes up the ROM.

This is not the case with Prospero Pascal that uses the same ROM.

Re: Prospero Fortran and C

The Pascal and Fortran ROMs implement a SuperBASIC command "PRL" that returns the version number of the Prospero Runtime Library - Maybe that's similar with your ROM?

SMSQ/E doesn't seem to mimic that IPC command. And Minerva doesn't seem to use it.

Re: 8302<>8049 communications...

Partial IPC emulation is possible and works quite nice, the Q68 can work as a proof for that - To my knowledge (and without looking into the code), the Q68 SMSQ/E implementation catches only the keyboard matrix scan and the BEEP command to the IPC in MT.IPCOM, which makes it work with 99% of QL soft...

Re: 8302<>8049 communications...

MT.IPCOM is a great example as I wonder how often it is used in applications - and I would bet mostly in OS extensions like Toolkit II etc, as there are higher level OS calls that may use it to produce sound or check keyboard rows for pressed keys. MT.IPCOM actually is the only way to do those two ...

Re: QEmulator - how to create a directory ?

What is the maximum number of directory entries on a .win device ? I don‘t think there actually is a limit on „QLWA“-style (=.win) drives. Marcel Agreed. I did, however, understand the question to apply to Q-Emulator's "native" file system (that's used when "mounting" a host dir...

the amount of memory your MiST emulates does not depend on the ROM - It's set in the core's config menu (F12).

There is -this one is just an example of many possibilities that might be worth trying.

Re: QPC2-CONFIG

You most probably checked the "Don't show this dialog on startup" item in the configuration dialog.

Pressing the shift key when starting the program will bring it back temporarily, then uncheck that item.

Re: QL Pawn

If you want to play the game on a modern platform, with all the full glory of the graphics that were unfortunately not in the QL version, it is available from Strand Games (staffed by ex Magnetic Scrolls personnel) for all major platforms in a re-mastered version for GBP 1.49. https://strandgames.it...
