There's are a couple of ways to do it. It depends if you just want to pass a. Yet back and forth or if you want to address a block of memory. It would need some hefty GPIO on the pi's side.

The unit is very easy to modify. I have one that I often use and was planning to replace or refresh the PSU because the caps are getting old. I'll take photos when I do it. There's a LOT of room in the case, so....

They're potted with epoxy. Use a commercial epoxy dissolver like Loctite 76820. Google what's available in your area.

Is /RAS noisy at pin 8 of the 8301? RAS and CAS only go from pins 8 and 10 of the 8301 to the 16 DRAM ICs and nowhere else, with nothing intervening either. Either the 8301 is outputting a noisy signal, or a RAM is doing something nasty with it.
