Re: How to inhibit printing top-row of fonts...

I'm not 100% sure but I might have written some font handling code back in the old days of DJToolkit that might possibly Do what you want. But as I said, I'm not sure.

Head over to Dilwyn's Web site and download the toolkit and demos, there could well be something to help.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Norm.

Re: Free book on Assembly Programming.

In case anyone is wondering about the new VAT rules, they were originally designed to stop large companies setting up in one country, to sell goods to other countries, but only pay the VAT of the country they set up in, even though they charged the customers the full rate for their own country. So I...

Re: Free book on Assembly Programming.

WWWOOOWWW!!! NormanDunbar , really amazing, very well done. How I liked if it were printed... C O N G R A T S !!! Thanks. Ifit was printed, it would cost money. If it cost money, and I sold it outside the UK, all these new VAT rules would come into force and I'd get screwed over by yet another fsck...

If the same program were to be written in Assembly Language, how much faster would you estimate this to be compared to C code?

Michael

Would "a lot" be an acceptable answer? :D

Free book on Assembly Programming.

For those who don't know yet, I've taken years of QL Today Assembly Language articles, and built a book out of them. You can get the whole thing, which is a pdf file of around 350 pages, neatly type set and searchable, printable etc, no DRM, at http://qdosmsq.dunbar-it.co.uk/downloads/QLToday/QL_Ass...

Re: SBASIC & C++

Regarding CPORT, I bought that years ago, and after running it on a couple of fairly simple programs, never used it again. The code output was pretty dire and I'm not sure it would be all that much more efficient. Maybe I'll dig it out sometime, if my floppies still revolve that is, and have another...

Re: SBASIC & C++

Hi Per, Tobias, What is the DEF_INTEGER on line 100 for? Per If I remember my Turbo correctly, Def Integer means that those variables will be treated as integers and not floating point. Handy for pre SMS* QLs that can't do integer FOR loops, for example. Should run quicker, I think. But that depends...

Re: Accessing QUANTA software library

Evening all, I have set up a Windows XP Virtual Machine on my Linux laptop, running under VirtualBox, and installed the trial version of QemuLator 3.1.2 on it. I downloaded the Libguide zip file from the Quanta web site. With the zip file extracted and the folder it lives in attached as mdv1_ I load...
