Re: Sinclair QL Floppy Disk Interfaces
I guess it depends on how much you think you would get for your first born! Unfortunately, the value of them is dictated by market forces - you don't find many disk interfaces for sale, let alone Trump Cards, Gold Cards and Super Gold Cards which have been tested and are fully working. I would like ...

QL Serial and Joystick Port Connectors
I have salvaged a handful of serial port and joystick port connectors for the UK QL (BT telephone style) sockets.
They have a wire attached to them (ending in bare wires), so can easily be wired up to 9 Pin DINs.

Re: QL Today to close after next issue
Certainly I would think a direct sector copier would do it - most forms of disk copy protection rely on having a bad sector or a deleted file in a certain sector.

Re: QL Today to close after next issue
By the way, QPC2 v4 (as provided with the last issue of QL Today) does allow you to mount disk img files as floppy disks....

Re: Seen on eBay
Some of them make for an interesting read, but there are better out there. In my opinion: - Psion programs: Get the Blueprint books (there was another in the series which I have never seen) - SuperBASIC: Get Jan Jones book and the SBASIC/SuperBASIC Reference Manual - Machine Code: Get Colin Opie's b...

Re: QUANTA
In reality, as a long time Quanta member - I think it is worthwhile - they have magnificently failed to embrace the power of the internet - and have had at least 3 attempts at doing the website - but it has never taken off or been in a position where it can be updated by committee members on a regul...

Re: Seen on eBay
I see that there is another seller who thinks the QL Series is rare - see for example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Data-Base-Management-on-the-Sinclair-Q-L-The-Sinclair-QL-s-OReilly-Mike-/190928223743?pt=Fiction&hash=item2c74357dff At that price I have probably skipped £2000 worth of these things ...

Re: QL Today to close after next issue
QPC2 can handle disk images I believe... Rich, nope, it cannot, I'm afraid. SMSQmulator can, but only read-only. :?: uqlx can :!: , as well as QEmulator :!: , I believe. But installing a QL emulator just for the purpose of creating a disk image is probably overkill. Hmm just checked - yes, the regi...

Re: QL Today to close after next issue
I have the DOS versions of RAWREAD but none of this disk imaging software will work if you have an external disk drive (as you cannot access the drive controller).vanpeebles wrote:I tried raw read but didn't have much luck with it
You need a PC with built in disk drives.
