Re: What to do with a QL?
Without anything else than a plain QL, apart SuperBasic and the Psion suite, he should try FORTH ;) The Digital Precision SuperForth is now public domain. Paul True, but there is always the problem of finding someone who is willing to make some microdrive cartridges up until he gets a disk interfac...

HARPROM and QEPIII for sale
I have now listed two quite rare pieces of hardware on www.sellmyretro.com The Harprom EPROM board, which allows you to use up to 192K of EPROMs (3 x 64K) plugged into the QL's expansion slot - you can still use the QL's ROM socket and a disk interface (as well as extra memory). A boxed QEPIII EPROM...

Spectrum is 30 Show - 8th/9th September
Thomas of Sintech has asked me to forward the following message: Hello Sinclair-fans, although already announced 2 months ago in the WOS Forum I also want tell the users here that we are proud to present what will be the biggest Spectrum venue of the last 20 years. We managed to get huge space in Ca...

Re: ROM Cartridge Port PinOut
I have received some more information from Adrian Ives: "Writing" to the ROM port requires some extra logic on the device that is being written to, but the principle is really very simple. The aborted Q-BUS project contained an API for just this purpose. - Allocate a 256 byte page anywhere...

Re: Happy Birthday!
Many thanks - would love a QL shaped cake, but as it has to be gluten free for me, it is most likely going to fall apart as soon as I try pressing any of the keys - now that would be so UNLIKE the QLvanpeebles wrote:Happy Birthday to RWAP Rich! Hope you get a QL shaped cake!

Re: QPC and Windows 7 64bit
I have just had a similar experience where Windows 7 decided to force QPC2 closed (program not responding), then on trying to re-start QPC2, the boot program would run so far and then Windows would report 'Program stopped responding' and wait for me to press a key before shutting it down. It actuall...

Re: Best drawing (bitmap) application?
PROGS did of course, also release LineDesign which is the only vector drawing program for the QL (it runs under the (now) public domain ProWeSs windowing system - which in turn runs under the pointer environment.... I quite like LineDesign for some things - although the fact that colours are not sho...

Re: Hello from the North West
Welcome to the forums - the main issue with microdrives is the felt pad on the cartridges themselves disintegrating. Next to check is a) the tape head - clean it with some tap head cleaner b) the rubber roller on the left hand side of the slot - has this ridden up the metal post it is on (there shou...
