That program actually seems to want a filename (of a theme file) as a command line argument (like in "EX SiThVi.obj; Themefile_thm") . You most probably have supplied none, which the program found to be a "BAD NAME". So, all fine, works as designed.

Problems printing from QPC to QPCPrint
Gents, before bothering Marcel, who seems to be on vacation: I have some problems on a fairly recent installation of QPC and QPCPrint on a Windows 10 machine: SMSQ/E 3.34 QPC 4.93 (wonder where I got that from, Marcel's site seems to offer an older version.) QPCPrint 1.03 (in case that matters) QPCP...

Re: QL Float format to C68 float format - sort of...
Evening All, I'm writing a utility - it's a long term project of mine - in C68. For testing I'm using both xtcc on Linux, and compiling the code with gcc as well. I'm needing some code to convert a QL 6 byte floating point to a "normal" floating point both in C68 (native to the QL) and al...

Re: Tankbusters by Sellasoft
Note Dilwyn's site has a very similar game (CBZone which runs quite well on a SuperGoldCarded QL (don't try on lower-spec hardware, that's dead slow, also, don't try on QPC2 without suitable SLUG, that's way too fast). The game is quite nice and a suitable surrogate.

Re: MAB 8049H P A038 comapible?
Any non-SInclair branded 8049 will very probably not work in the QL. The 8049 is a mask-programmed MCU that does not only come as hardware according to specifications in the data sheet, it also contains a (non-changeable) ROM that contains the firmware. That firmware is specifically made for the QL ...

Re: ALCHP and LOAD problem
That is actually intentional. NOTE 2 Memory reserved by ALCHP is indirectly cleared by NEW, CLEAR, LOAD and LRUN (this does not apply to the Btool extended variant - see above). As LOAD clears all variables, it would be hard to free any ALCHPed space after a LOAD (without at least pen and paper to t...

Re: Sinclair QL - QL-SD with vDRIVE QL
Coming back to the original topic (even if the Q68 is a nice QL-alike and I'm the happy owner of two, I don't think Bill will want to invest into it just now that he has his first "real" QL.) Next question, if Get QL-SD and run SMSQ/E will it run all the old QL software or will I have to g...

Re: Apple Windows
I guess a QL could let in a lot more fresh air (use short-side-up and if not enough, add some expansion cards).
(A clear downside for the Q68...)

Re: Sinclair QL - QL-SD with vDRIVE QL
I ordered Tetroids SGC and I will be attaching dual 1.44mb HD floppy drives and the VdriveQL. Why would I need QL-SD? Depends how much you want to turn back time... VDrive QL will supply you with emulated microdrives on SD card, so a 1985 QL. The vDrive cannot do much more than what additional 6 mi...

Re: Demo by Five Finger Punch
Tried on QPC2 for the fun of it. It runs through the first minute of the demo in a second and then crashes.martyn_hill wrote:Brilliant!
Do we know what QL platform/spec it was run on?
