Re: Ethernet chit chat...

Hi, After a quick read of the 2 documents. The Cirrus Logic CS8900A, interfaces direct to the ISA bus and looks to use DMA, there is no QL devices that use ISA other than the Q40/60. DMA as far as I know is not used on a QL operating system. Which maybe easy to implement, but I think the WizNet solu...

Re: DIY - QL style keyboard with mechanical Cherry keys ?

Hi, Maybe a good idea would be to reproduce the Schon keyboard. I have only seen it is photographs, so can not comment on the amount of work required. Maybe someone who was a Schon Keyboard can take some pictures of the inside of the keyboard. With a view that we/I can see how much work to make a co...

Re: Cursor Sprites

Hi Dilwyn,

A possible use, could be to have a Spectrum style cursor, where the Cursor changes to a flashing C when the Capslock is pressed, but that would need some code to detect the chnage in Capslock.

Re: Faulty machine.

Hi,

Try putting Minerva as the ROM, the Ram Test will tell you which ram chip or section on the internal ram by displaying a memory location on the screen where the ram test failed.

This is an ehancement over the JS and earlier Roms.

Hi,

I could not read the comment in yellow, as I get the QL Forum by RSS feed.

Only when I selected the message and Thunderbird with ThunderBrow Addon opened the web page, could I read the comment. :P

Hi,

Which is what I said, I had made up many Floppy Drive cables to reverse the Drive Select Pins.

Re: Seek to enable disk capability, esp dual floppy cable

Hi, The drive select pins will be hard wired and the drives will be assumed to be used on a PC. I think all you need is a standard floppy drive cable with twist in the cable between Drive 1 & 2. I have a few of these, if you send your address in a Private Message I will send you one to try. Derek
