What features matter to you?

Which features are you willing to LOSE in a QL?

You can pick up to three, and you can change your mind. If you would explain your choices in a post and react to other peoples' reasons - changing your votes if necessary - I will try to incorporate it into the Issue 8 board.

Re: CST Thor 1

As Nasta loves telling me: The QL was not designed to be backfed power. Removal of the 7812 and 7805 prevents the release of the magic smoke when you have power at the output and nothing on the input. The Thor doesn't use the microdrives so there's no need to ensure power there. From my recollection...

Re: Wanted: Issue 7 QL PCB.

Well, those sockets are crap and I usually replace them anyway, so yes! I am just curious. Wouldn't a change of socket type or the addition of sockets where ic were soldered directly change the timing/sensibility to ripple compared to what sinclair sold originally? If so I wouldn't change these in ...

Re: Wanted: Issue 7 QL PCB.

Boom! Issue 7 and repairable Issue 5 on the way. Now I have a 7 to test against and a spare Issue 5 since that seems to be the main platform. My Issue 5 is more cranky than vanpeebles when the beer delivery is late!

Well, those sockets are crap and I usually replace them anyway, so yes! If you send me a paypal invoice to dave@sinclairql.com when you know the amount, I'll pay right away.

And you begin your search for an odd shaped box!

Re: Wanted: Issue 7 QL PCB.

I'll take it. If it works, great, if not, that's my second preference.

Do you have a spare Issue 5 there too? Mine's getting cranky (also memory) and though I would get it later, if it would save a bit to ship it at the same time, I'll do it.
