Re: To Minerva or not to Minerva...
It's odd that it runs in Q-emuLator but not on real QL?
The only difference I can see is Q-emuLator is on 1.98 and my QL is 1.98 a1

Re: To Minerva or not to Minerva...
In my opinion, the only essential software, which does not run with Minerva, is the game Vroom. It seems to run under Minerva in q-emulator, but I’m not able to test on my QL until I make a final decision on whether to switch ROMs Well I’ve bitten the bullet and installed Minerva (without breaking ...

Re: QSTAR 1
Works for me on BBQL (JS) + Trump 768k, but I do load the newest TK2 from QIMSI at boot time (if that has any relevance) Will probably install Minerva this weekend and will report back if needed (I did discover there’s an issue with my homemade joystick adapter in one direction!) Many thanks I deci...

Re: Plug-in ROM without $4AFB0001 Header
The reason I’m working on this is so I don’t have to remove QIMSI and plug in the Sandy cartridge every time I want to use it
But just as importantly I’m learning a lot of things as I go along, so even if it’s a dead end it’s not a waste of time

Re: Plug-in ROM without $4AFB0001 Header
Hi, The QL ROM header is an automatic way for the operating system to load code extensions to extend the system. See the QDOS Technical Guide or SMSQ/E Reference Guide for more details of the ROM Header specification. You can load in the ROM code and use EPROM_LOAD, which sometimes works, but this ...

Re: Plug-in ROM without $4AFB0001 Header
Hi Tofro, The base program CPMU_EXE starts by checking for 2 long words at $C000, I assume just to make sure the ROM is plugged in (this is the part I've written a boot patch for so far), but there's no other reference to the range $C000-$FFFF in CPMU_EXE If it's position dependent then that's a pro...
