Another Minerva Manual

Hey Minervans Whilst rummaging around some old data drives, Jonathan came across this PDF of the Minerva guide which you might find interesting. Spot the difference ? Yes, that's right, the Minerva logo is a character all of its own. I have no idea why we did this, just because we could. We also fou...

Re: Fluffy Dice for your Sinclair QL

As if there was any such thing as a "typical long haired computer freak" - tabloid journalism ;-)

Fluffy Dice for your Sinclair QL

Jonathan Oakley came across this in his QView scrapbook and we thought it might be fun to share. This was from the local rag Cambridge Evening News which covered the QUANTA Papowrth meeting where Minerva was launched. Some questionable journalistic ideology from the day (women keeping the tea urns f...

Re: CAPSLED

I'm sure Son of CAPSLED could be prettied up some - the first project QView did was in the original hacker hobbyist (Heathkit!) style. Some wire, an LED, a transistor and a drill bit. We were frequently complimented on the drill bit, which I claim as my idea having been frustrated in the past by kit...

Re: CAPSLED

I do not yet have a product but trying to gauge interest and some idea of quantity. My goal would be to recreate the original including the packaging and the dot matrix font instructions. Although I may concede to not printing it on an actual dot matrix printer. The hardware equivalent of a tribute ...

Re: Spiral bound Minerva manual

That would be fantastic Derek. I too love my PDF collection for so many things, but as the author of that manual that took many night owl hours to make (I can still recall the smell of the freshly printed paper batch) I’m sure you can appreciate the nostalgia trip

Re: CAPSLED

All right let’s see if there’s any nostalgia interest..here’s a Google form to do a headcount. I will try to recreate it as originally as possible including the drill bit

Spiral bound Minerva manual

I know that there are PDF scans, but as the person who wrote, proof read and organized the printing of the first spiral bound Minerva manuals, I’m putting out an appeal to keep your eyes out for a printed example to join my personal QView museum… If you have a spare or you find one listed somewhere ...

Re: Sinclair/QJUMP QEPIII Eprom programmer

Campfire memories - the in house production Minerva(e) were born on a QEPIII. Including the ones that went round twice on the first production batch for the Papworth QL show where we debuted. At 2 am Lau discovered a bug in his code we had to fix… Thinking maybe I should write a Tales from the QView...
