Re: Dead QL

Thanks to all. Finally found time to very carefully move the 8301 from my working QL to the failed one and voila - microdrives spin, screen works, everything!! Have found a supplier so just a matter now of purchasing a new 8301 and both will be back into full working order. Now i just need to fix my...

Re: Dead QL

Hi, Have checked with a logic probe across R, G, B and composite on the 1331. All 4 show the same waveform, regular clock cycles with little or no change. It looks like it is actually sending a steady black (or one colour, at least). I have a horrible feeling this mean the ULA (as it is the dearest)...

Re: Dead QL

Thanks Dave, Have also downloaded the service book and aim to have a really good play with my oscilloscope passed on to me by my brother. Been looking for a good reason.

Will be back if stuck.

Dead QL

I am trying to get one of my spare QLs ready for sale as I have too many at the moment. Have not switched this one on in many years! The membrane was shot (the one ribbon almost in two pieces) so have installed new. When I switch on though all I get is a solid black screen. Pressing (blind) F1 or F2...

Re: Turbo crash

Thanks Michael, tried that first. A new download sorted things out. Thanks to all that replied, especially regarding QPC2. I had not really done anything more than open the application before but decided to persevere a bit more this time and glad I did. The performance is phenomenal, loading zip22_b...

Re: Turbo crash

Thanks Dilwyn, that easy!! I tried the exec task on QLAY2 with Minerva 197, on Q-Emulator and on QPC2, the first crashes the program the other two say invalid parameter so looks like turbo did something odd when it created the task file. I will download a fresh copy of turbo and try again.... unless...

Re: Turbo crash

I don't seem to have a copy of Minerva 197 so cannot test it. It does seem to work on Q-emulator though so it must be qlay2 having problems. I really need to try qpc2. I never seem to be able to get the QL screen big enough then run out of interest!! The timing results are surprising as I always tho...

Turbo crash

I have had a lot of problems trying QL emulators on my Windows 10 (64 bit) laptop. In the end I have built an old laptop with Window XP (SP3) 16 bit and am getting excellent stability. Having downloaded Q-Liberator, I thought I would do some speed tests also including Turbo. I am testing a very basi...

Re: q-liberator

Thanks Tobias, had forgotten to set qlib_use. As I had only set up a single win drive I assumed it would not need to be told. Great to see it working.

Re: q-liberator

Has anyone downloaded and got working yet? I have unzipped all to a win_ drive in qlay2. Boot files all load without errors, typing 'liberate_etc' with no trailing comma tells me the work file has been created. Typing with a trailing comma gives a bad parameter error. I know that normally copying ql...
