Re: Maximum effective BAUD with superHermes and unexpanded QL

Hi Silvester POKE!!53,128 ? Interesting idea. Whilst that poke would disable the IPC interrupt that is designed to service the serial ports at higher speeds, it could be that given that sH uses EXTINT instead, it is at least unnecessary. Anyways, very easy for me to test - thank's for the idea! I'll...

Re: All RAM chips destroyed??

Hi Cristian Well done - replacing those DRAMs is tedious, so say the least. Pr0f's advice below is certainly sensible. I had a question, however - in your photos, there appears some 'snow' on the display - is that actually present, or just an artifact of the photography - or perhaps a poor RGB cable?

Re: Correct Maths Stack usage (CHRIX/RESRI)

Hi everyone Very interesting discussion - thank you! If I may return to one of the original questions very briefly - "Must we pre-load a1 with bv_rip(a6) BEFORE calling CHRIX/RESRI?", can we agree that this step is unnecessary (contrary to the SMSQ reference guide and source code comments)...

Re: Correct Maths Stack usage (CHRIX/RESRI)

Terrific, Norm thank you for clearing that up for me! So, to test my understanding, here's a very simple NET% function what I wrote (simultaneously it seems with Mr Head's latest implementation in IPNet/Router), that I believe obeys all the rules for the simpler use-case of an SBasic FN with no para...

Correct Maths Stack usage (CHRIX/RESRI)

Hi everyone I am perplexed regarding a small point around correct use of the Maths stack. I am well acquainted with Mr. Dunbar's authoritative exposition on the subject (found on Dilwyn's site) - my favorite go-to reference on this knarly topic... Then I read both the SMSQ Reference Guide, as well a...

Re: Maximum effective BAUD with superHermes and unexpanded QL

Hi Pr0f

If I remember correctly, I used memory to memory transfers to avoid any storage-access delays of a 16kB string using PRINT at the QPC sender and INPUT$ at the QL/sH receiver.

I'll test again and report back.
