Re: A new QL emulator
I did write an IPC emulation once... 20 years ago. I've switched QPC to SMSQ/E before finishing SER etc., but the keyboard did work. Any particular question? It's a fairly simple bit-banging protocol.

Re: SuperBASIC function to read a line?
I've got a small toolkit to wrap the raw I/O calls, too: https://www.kilgus.net/smsqe/sbasic-too ... lkit-chan/. Not sure if that fits your exact needs.

Re: Motion piQtures
OK, I couldn't help myself. I wrote a quick&dirty movie player including sound: https://www.kilgus.net/2016/12/05/qmovie-smsqe-movie-player/ I know the feeling, but Im manfully resisting the urge ;) I hope someone will pick up the baton, though, as it looks really hopeful The movie file is some...

Re: Motion piQtures
Source is included. Have fun. Great stuff (both the band and your work), Marcel! Thanks! Amazing how little code is needed (EXE size is 336 Bytes) to let SMSQ/E play videos! Windows and even Linux are so bloated those days, to get a tiny task done, almost everything goes in the hundreds if not thou...

Re: Motion piQtures
Animated Christmas card (from the "unofficial forum animation competition" ) 8-) Since on Qemulator it runs much faster than the original QL, as usual you may set the speed by changing the "p" parameter at line 200 (for Qemulator I suggest a numeric value of 5 or 6). Enjoy! http...

QMovie v2.00
OK, the last QMovie player release didn't quite let me drop the subject, especially as the playback was still too choppy for my taste. So today I release QMovie v2.0, a complete movie player for SMSQ/E (QPC): qmovie.png As you see it's a fully WMAN enabled player, playing pretty flawlessly even at 2...

OK, I couldn't help myself. I wrote a quick&dirty movie player including sound: https://www.kilgus.net/2016/12/05/qmovie-smsqe-movie-player/ (135MB). Just start the QPC2.exe and it should work, no configuration necessary. Other platforms will probably not work anyway, no idea, you get into stran...

Re: Motion piQtures
Im not sure that PNGConvert uses the highest mode of compression available to SMSQ/E It does. I've never implemented more than a simple RLE compression for it. On one hand because RLE is a very fast method that slow QL platforms can still handle and on the other hand because I wanted to keep my san...

Re: C68 Question
Hi Tim.
Check out the "fusechid" function, it converts the QDOS handle to a FILE* pointer in order to use the C-lib functions on QDOS channels.
Cheers, Marcel

Re: QL Hardware Sales Totals
BTW, my old copy of QPC2 (v1.51, one of the first releases I believe) says I have registration number 558. How does that compare with your count of 409 registrations in 2005? Or has Jochen not counted them from 1 upwards? I have no idea what kind of numbering system Jochen used, but the numbers are...
